The people of the county are saddened by the news that A. Lester Puffer passed away Tue night at his farm home. Mr. Puffer has been confined to his bed for many months and for the past two years has suffered ill health. He has undergone several operations which were seemingly of no avail for though he was better at times he had declined in health steadily.
Mr. Puffer possessed a large circle of friends. Mr. Puffer has served in various township offices and was at one time a member of the board of supervisors, County Treasurer, and at the time of his death and for many years before was secretary and treasurer of the Farmers Telephone Company. He has been most active in the affairs of the community and his county. The welfare of his neighbor was as important as that of his own. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at the home Fri afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Barker will be in charge of the service and it is expected that Rev. McGinnis of Middleton, former Pastor of Kalkaska, will give the sermon.
The bereaved family have the heart felt sympathy of the people of the county in their sorrow.
