Arthur W. Carpenter, 80, of 300 ½ Washington St. Findlay, died unexpectedly at 10:35am Thu at Toledo Mercy Hospital of a heart attack.
Born August 29, 1915 in Hardin County, he was the son of Ora and Hattie (Loubert) Carpenter. He married Cora Bell Lease and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother, at Mount Victory; daughters, Mrs. Richard, Shirk, Mrs. Wayne Rogers, Mrs. Eddie Manns, and Mrs. Walter Zimmerman, all of Kenton, and Mrs. Robert Bridenstine, Forest; a son, Louis R. Kenton; brothers, Paul, Detroit, and Kenneth, of Kansas; sisters, Mrs. Wanita Benjamin, Mount Blanchard, MRs. Beatrice Perkins, Kenton, and Mrs. Mary Cannode, Mount Victory. Sixteen grandchildren survive.
Mr. Carpenter was employed as lineman for the High Voltage Systems Inc. of Toledo. He had resided in Findlay one year and was formerly of Detroit.
A graduate of Forest High School, he was a veteran of WWII. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Detroit.
Services are at 2pm Sat in the Shields Funeral Home, Forest. The Rev. Robert Rector will officiate with burial in Jackson Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
