Mr. Arthur Gillette, aged 70, of Grandville, passed away May 26, 1989 after a long illness. Surviving are his wife, Lee; a son, Jim and daughter in law, Pam; daughter, Gail Gillette, of Miami, FL; two grandchildren, Jamie and Brad; sister in law, Lois Katz of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Betty Deremo of Spring Lake and Evelyn Wolbert of Grandville. Mr. Gillette worked on Pere Marquette Railroad and retried from Chessie System in 1980 after 42 years of service. He was a Mason with Pere Marquette Lodge 299, life member of the Elks Lodge 736, the American Legion, the West Michigan Railroad Historical Society, Veteran of WWII, and member of the Grand Rapids Red Arrow Club. There will be no formal funeral service or visitation. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Railroad Historical Society.
