A lifelong resident of Traverse City, Arthur B. Hodge, 82, of 220 E 10th St., died Sun morning at the Grand Traverse County Medical Care Facility following a long illness.
Mr. Hodge was born in Traverse City January 25, 1884 and spent his entire life in this community. On Oct. 10, 1905 he married Angeline Day of this city, who preceded him in death in 1965.
For many years he was employed at Burns and Wynkoop Garage as a mechanic until 1941, when he went to Detroit to work in defense plants during the war. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Traverse City.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Hurlbut of Traverse City; one grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The rosary will be said at the Hibbard Funeral Chapel tonight at 7. The funeral mass will be sung at Inamaculate Conception Church Tue at 9am with Msgr. R.W. Passeno as celebrant.
Burial will be at the family lot in Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
