Arlie Landry, 85, a longtime resident of Kalkaska, died Aug 23, 2001, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Landry moved to Kalkaska in 1929 and was a member of the Peoples Church and the church Women's Fellowship. She had been a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary. In 1971, she was honored as the runner up Queen of the Kalkaska County Centennial. She enjoyed cooking, and especially proud of her family and enjoyed Sunday family dinners.
She was born in Cranden, WI Feb 23, 1916, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ratliff Adkins. On March 1, 1934, in Kalkaska she was united in marriage with Delbert (Tobe) Root, who proceeded her in death on Jul 14, 1974. She married Joseph Landry in Kalkaska on Oct 1, 1979. He died on Mar 4, 1996.
Surviving are daughters Doris (Jim) Tuffts and Judy (Russell) Titus, both of Kalkaska; brother, Owen Adkins of Lobelville, TN; six grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Daughter Brenda and five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Paul Karges, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
