Arlene I (Hamacher) Gyurkovitz passed away and went to be with her Lord on Apr 29, 2004, at age 81.
Her loving family was at her bedside at Bortz Nursing Care in Traverse City.
She was born to Clarence and Nellie (Morris) Hamacher on Oct 1, 1922. Arlene married Adolph Gyurkovitz on Apr 8, 1944, and he passed away on Jul 31, 1976.
Arlene was an excellent cook and loved animals, flowers, gardens, family get togethers, parties in her basement, music, dancing, polkas, fishing, and having company stop by for a visit.
Surviving are her children, daughter, Evelyn (Coral) Vipond of Spring Lake, sons, John (Judy) Griffiths of Kalamazoo and Garth (Elaine) Griffiths of Newaygo; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; brother, Max (Ruth) Hamacher of Holland; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Arlene in death were her parents; her husband; and sisters, Reatha (Ray) Parker and Ruby (Earl) Root, both of Kalkaska.
Visitation was Fri, Apr 30, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral service was held on Sat, May 1 at the funeral home with Pastor Walter Skrine Sr. officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
