Annabelle Grace (Nelson-Wells) Boersma, 88, of Traverse City, passed away Sun, Dec 28, 2008 at Bortz Health Care Center in Traverse City.
Annabelle was born Jan 21, 1920 in Garfield Township, the daughter of Leslie and Gertrude (Lichty) Nelson.
She was a seamstress, draft board clerk and a cook for Traverse City State Hospital.
She was a member of Kalkaska Rebekah's Cotietts and the former Asbury United Methodist Church in Traverse City.
Survivors include her three children; Ernest (Sue) Wells of London, KY, Judy (Michael) Galligan of Traverse City, and David (Debbie) Wells of Warren; six grandchildren, Michelle (Fritz) Daenitz of Glendale, CA, James Wells of London, KY, Dawn (Michael) Castro of Avondale, AZ, Stefanie (Douglas) Yascolt of Traverse City, Jim (Brenda) Galligan of Traverse City, and Sherry (Bruce) Hacker of Greenville; seven great grandchildren, Sean Condon, Zachary Fraedrich, Cassandra Castro, Spencer and Nolan Yascolt, and Nora and Holly Galligan; and half sister, Louise Robinson, of Monticello, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael John Wells; husband, James Boersma; two brothers, Herbert Nelson and Leo Nelson and a sister, Maurine Cooper.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 am on Mon, Jun 15, at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City, with the Rev. Becky Chamberlain officiating.
The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
