Pauline Haslebacher Dyer, 92, of Wheeling, died on Fri, Feb 26, 2010, in Bishop Joseph H Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born Oct 19, 1917, in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of the late Henry and Fanny Huppertz Haslebacher.
Pauline was a high school graduate of the former Roosevelt-Wilson High School in Nutter Fort, WV, in 1935. She was a past member of the Vincent Memorial United Methodist Church in Nutter Fort, WV, where she was very active in the life of the church and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wheeling, WV, where she was a member of the New Covenant Unit.
She also was a past member of the Wheeling Park Women’s Golf Club and a past member of the Women’s Club in Wheeling. While in Clarksburg, she was a past President and member of the Ladies Golf Association of the Bridgeport, WV, Country Club and a past member of the Bridgeport, WV, Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jay T. Dyer; two brothers, Karl and Kenneth Haslebacher; a daughter in law, Joan Dyer; and a grandson, Joel Dyer.
Surviving are two children, Dr. Jay H Dyer and his wife, Kapsoo Kim of Bethlehem, WV, and Judith “Judy” Dyer of Morgantown, WV; a sister, Esther Weeks of Wheeling, WV; and 4 grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky” McCale of Vienna, WV, Joy E Dyer of Herndon, VA, Josephine “Josie” Dyer of Huntington, WV, and Jaya P Dyer of Morgantown, WV.
Friends will be received on Mon, Mar 1, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and on Tue, Mar 2, 2010, from 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Rd, Wheeling, WV, with Dr. Roger L Smith officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling, WV.
