Anna May Hinds, 83, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 1, 1997, in Traverse City.
Mrs. Hinds moved to Kalkaska in 1940 from New Buffalo. She was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and enjoyed crafts, country music and her family.
Mrs. Hinds as born in South Bend, IN, on May 26, 1913, to George and Rosetta (Moudlin) Green. She married Frank Prentice in South Bend on Nov 24, 1939. He died on May 4, 1944. On Sep 12, 1945, in Mancelona, she married Orange Hinds, who preceded her in death on Jul 9, 1961.
Surviving are seven sons, Frank and James Prentice of Kalkaska, Ronald Hinds of Grayling, Donald and Robert Hinds of Kalkaska, Richard Hinds of Mancelona and Jerry Hinds of Traverse City; daughters Goldie Grambau of Kalkaska and Bonnie Kalina of Racine, WI; stepsons Orange Hinds of Traverse City and Sherman Hinds of Detroit; stepdaughter Pearl Wind of Kalkaska; 28 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
Brothers Edward, Albert, Chester, and Alonzo; and sisters Hazel, Mary and Dorothy preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Mar 5 at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. E. Dan Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Disabled American Veterans of Special Olympics.
