Mrs. Anita E. Thomas, 94, of Kalkaska, died Tue, Sep 21, 1999, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Thomas had been a resident of Kalkaska since 1941 when she moved from Eaton Rapids. She was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and enjoyed her family.
Born in Leesburg, she is the daughter of Samuel and Arrilla (Kern) Russell. On Apr 23, 1923, in Battle Creek, she married Leo Thomas, who preceded her in death on Dec 8, 1960.
Surviving are sons Basil and Duane (Virginia) Thomas of Kalkaska, Darwin (Margaret) Thomas of Taylor, SC, Marvin Thomas of Jackson, and Bobby (Dale) Thomas of Tampa, FL; daughters Coleen (Bob) Kedrovicz of Traverse City, Catherine (Neil) Westra of Lookout Mountain, GA, Marlene (Larry) Wells of Kalkaska, and Norene Jackson of Grand Rapids; 29 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by children Beatrice, Everett and Erwin Dale; sisters, Irene, Viola, and Ethel; and brothers Harry, Lawrence, and Oscar.
Funeral services were Sep 24 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
