Alvin M. Larson, 82, of Grand Rapids, formerly of South Boardman, died Thu, Sep 16, 1993, at Springbrook Manor in Grand Rapids.
Mr. Larson was a retiree of General Motors Rochester Products, and a 25 year member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 410. He and his wife, Elizabeth, were founding members of the Boardman Area Senior Citizens Club. Mr. Larson was born in Kalkaska County on May 27, 1911, the youngest of 14 children, to Andrew and Hilda Johnson Larson. On Mar 31, 1935, in South Boardman, he was married to Elizabeth Van Wormer who preceded him in death on Jul 30, 1976. He was married to Ada Tennant on Sep 9, 1978, in Kalkaska, and she died on Jun 11, 1980.
Leaving to keep him in the loving memories are his children, Elsie Claflin of Wyoming, Joan (Fritz) McConnon of Clarksville, Pete (Carol) Larson of Grand Rapids, Joe (Ann) Larson of Door, Gary (Barb) Larson of Byron Center, Terry Larson of Grand Rapids, and Karen (Jim) Baker of Jenison; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a very special sister in law, Helen Larson of South Boardman.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Mon, Sep 20, 1993, at the St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
A scripture service was held at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska on Sunday.
