Alvin L Peterson, 77, of Kalkaska passed away on Nov 14, 2003, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-Long Term Care.
He was born Nov 19, 1925, in Chesaning, the son of Albert and Emelie (Block) Peterson.
Alvin graduated from Chesaning High School in 1944. He married Patricia Gale on Aug 6, 1943, in Rogers City. Alvin continued with his education and graduated in 1950 from Central Michigan College. He was a pilot and flew new planes from Nova Scotia to England during WWII. Alvin retired from teaching at Kalkaska Public Schools after 33 years of service. He was a member of Experiment Aircraft Association, Michigan Education Association and member and past president of Michigan Drivers Education Association.
Alvin is survived by Patricia, his wife of 55 years; children, Vicki Marie (Wayne) Goodwin of Glastone, Barry Russell (Mary) Peterson of Manistee, Keith Douglas (Marcia) Peterson of St Johns, Valerie Jean Peterson of Broken Arrow, OK, Erid Jay (Jaylene) Peterson of Stafford, VA; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Mon, Nov 17, at the Wolfe Funeral Home.
