Mrs. Alverna M. Nolff, 82, of Fife Lake, died Jan 25, 1998, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Nolff spent her early years in Fife Lake, and then moved to Flint, where she resided for 20 years. She returned to Fife Lake in 1972. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Nolff was born in Kalkaska County on Nov 5, 1915, to Marcellus and Bessie Westcott Marvin. She married Donald Nolff in Fife Lake on Apr 10, 1932. He preceded her in death on Dec 16, 1972.
Surviving are sons Gary (Margaret) Nolff of Shreveport, LA, and Donald Nolff of Fife Lake; daughters Joan (Philo) Clark of Kalkaska, Donna (Marvin) Somers of Montrose, and Doris (Stan) Harrison of Gobles; brother Eugene Polmateer of Kalkaska; 24 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Five sons, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters and a great granddaughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Jan 28 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor William Kuiper officiated. Burial was in Fife Lake Cemetery.
