Alven Harold Krumlauf, 74. of South Boardman, passed away on Mon., Oct. 7. 2002, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on June 9. 1928. in Homer Township in Missaukee County, the son of Clarance and Hattie (Prough) Krumlauf.
Alven served our country in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army from 1946 to1947. He retired as operating engineer for Local #324 in 1990 and lived his entire life in the South Boardman area.
Alven was a member of the Gardner-Neihardt Post 463 of the American Legion in South Boardman.
Alven is survived by his loving family including his children, Rick (Lauri) Krumlauf of Gaylord, Ronald Krumlauf of South Boardman, Pamela (Gary) Beck of Petoskey and Virginia (Scott) Billings of South Boardman; sister, Ruth (John) MacKeller of Grand Haven and brother-in-law Thiel Blakely of Muskegon; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Alven was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Blakely in 1996 and his great-granddaughter, Izabel Krumlauf in 2002.
