Allen Lee Perry of Stanwood died Wed, Feb 24, 2010 at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was 72.
Allen was born in Grayling on Nov 3, 1937 to David and Eldena (Pitz) Perry. He grew up in near Fife Lake and South Boardman, farming with his parents in the area, and also in Stanwood since 1976. Allen loved horses and farming. He enjoyed his family and family reunions, horse auctions, and horse pulling competitions with his dad and his uncle George.
He was a loving son and faithfully took care of his parents.
Allen is survived by his mother, Eldena; two sisters, Judy (Gordon) VanAmberg of Whitemore Lake and Jean (Wayne) Edwards of Stanwood; three nephews, one niece, three great-nieces and a great nephew. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 309 West Main St, in Manton on Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 1 pm with Rev. James Thompson of the Manton Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Deibert Cemetery, Kalkaska County in the spring.
