Allan "Howard" Myers, 76, of Mancelona died Thu, Nov 12, 1992 at his home, following an extended illness.
Funeral service was held on Sat, Nov 14, at the Mancelona Missionary Church with Rev. Curt Alexander officiating.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Rapid River Township, Kalkaska County.
Mr. Myers had lived in the area most of his life except the six years that he lived in Battle Creek. He was self-employed working with cold, hard, steel.
He was a member of the Mancelona Missionary Church, where he was very active. He served as a deacon in the church, was a head usher and member of the Church Board.
He was born in Kalkaska County on Jul 21, 1916 to Frank and Ida (Arnold) Myers.
In Custer Township, he was married to Ruth Angeline Pascoe on Jul 11, 1937, and she preceded in death by one son, Allen L. Myers in 1985; four brothers, Harold, James, Gordon, and George Myers; and two sisters, Hazel Lavoie and Margaret McIntosh.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Janet) Batterbee of Westland, Mrs. John (Gloria Jean) Stevens of Flint and Mrs. Terrence (Doris Ann) Murdock of Saginaw; 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Stover of Berrien Springs.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Antrim-Kalkaska Hospice.
