Mr. Alfred Lape, 83, of Fife Lake, died Tue, Sep 9, 1997, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born Feb 28, 1914, in Detroit, the son of Clyde A. and Harriett (Kinnicutt) Lape and had resided in the Fife Lake area for the last 25 years. Formerly he and his wife had been residents of the Lansing area. Mr. Lape was a retired tool and die maker with Industrial Metal Products Corp. He married the former Helen L Trager on Aug 12, 1937, in Lansing. He was a member of the Fife Lake United Methodist Church and was an outdoors person, enjoying nature to its fullest.
Survivors include his wife Helen; children Audrey D. Kowalk of Eaton Rapids, Richard A. (Jeannette M) Lape of DeWitt, Charles R Lape of Bellaire, Carole (Roger) Moore of Harbor Springs, and Linda (Peter) Loepke of Rochester Hills; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister Louise Nourse of Eagle and half sister Beverly Reynolds of Greenville.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Fife Lake United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
