Albert Weir, 80, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Jun 3, 1992, at his residence.
Mr. Weir had been employed as a maintenance man for the Detroit Public Schools for 44 years prior to his retirement in 1972. He moved to Kalkaska from Detroit following his retirement, and made his home at Squaw Lake. He formerly served on the Kalkaska County Commission on Aging, and enjoyed playing cards.
Mr. Weir was born in Clark County, IL on Sep 24, 1911, son of the late Grant and Effie Blankenbeker Weir. On Nov 13, 1931, in Bowling Green, OH, he was united in marriage with Helen Coutts who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Albert Weir of Royal Oak, and Kenneth Weir of Rochester Hills; three daughters, Ruth Lopez of Santa Barbara, CA, Peggy Richards of Warren, and Sandy Weir, also of Warren; three brothers, Hubert Weir of Armada, Nolan Weir of Detroit, and Raymond Weir of Ruskin, FL; one sister, Florine King of Anderson, IN; nine grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
One brother, William, and one sister, Mary Wolfe, preceded him in death.
