Albert Solomon Olson, 89, died Saturday, January 15, 2000 surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 18, 1910, in Suttons Bay, he was the son of Edward and Caroline (Moe) Olson.
On May 11, 1935, in Detroit he married Henrietta Walter.
A lifelong resident of the Traverse City area, Albert was a mechanic and farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; five children, Leonard (Phyllis) of Las Vegas, Nev., Harold (Catalina) of Traverse City, Ernie (Barbara) of Middleville, Gerald (Andrea) of Lake Ann, and Delores Olson of Traverse City; two sisters, Betty Johnson of Plymouth, and Helen Hein of Traverse City; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Albert was preceded in death by two infant sons; one infant daughter; five daughters, Barbara Jean, Catherine, Margaret, Carolann, and Amy Jane; three sisters, Laura, Josephine, and Evelyn; four brothers, Harold, Edward, Louis, and Harold B.; a grandson, Phillip; and a daughter in law Cathy.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm today at the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home; Pastor Keith Huffman will officiate.
Burial will be in the spring in Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in Suttons Bay.
