Albert "Dick" R. Carmien, 81, of Lake Ann, passed away peacefully on Tue, Jan 7, 2020 at his home. Dick was born Jan 13, 1938 in Williamsburg to the late Aubrey and Louella (Boullion) Carmien.
He graduated from Traverse City High School in 1956.
He married the love of his life, Vera Mae Goin, on Jul 11, 1959 in Lake Ann.
Dick had been employed with Cherryland Electric Cooperative as a supervisor and underground engineer. He retired in 1994 after over 24 years of service.
In his spare time, Dick enjoyed deer hunting, riding his snowmobile, playing golf and being at their cottage on Lake Ann.
Above all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter, Elsie, was his greatest joy.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Vera; a son, Max (Holly) Carmien; a daughter, Amy Marie (Linda Peck) Carmien; his grandchildren, Jessica (Joshua Winowiecki) Carmien and Spencer (Jordan) Carmien; and a great granddaughter, Elsie Winowiecki. Also surviving are a brother; Aubrey "Butch" (Kathleen) Carmien; as well as his nieces, nephews and special caregivers, Keith and Marie.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Dowd and Linda Weathers.
In accordance with Dick's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be announced at a later date.
The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
