Albert E. Lyon, 75, of Mancelona died Saturday evening, Oct 15, 1994 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Lyon had been a resident of the area since 1955. Prior to moving here he had been a resident of Grand Blanc, Waterford, Pontiac, and Grand Rapids. He was a mechanic and truck driver, and he had worked for Pepsi Cola Company. He enjoyed woodworking and nature. he was a member of the Coldsprings-Excelsior Township Association, and active in Boy Scouts for many years.
On Apr 22, 1919, in Flint, he was born the son of Isaac and Cassie (Stone) Lyon. On Dec 9, 1939 in Grand Blanc, he was married to Marjorie Collings, and she survives.
Also, surviving are four daughters, Nola Hayes of Rapid City, Loetta (Lynn) Hamp of Daytona Beach, FL, Nan (Mitchel) Hershberger and Lynn (Al) Anger of Mancelona; one son Monty (Carol) Lyon of Washington, PA, 19 grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, 14 great grand children, 12 step great grandchildren; one sister, Gyneth Seitz of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Angie Moses in 1974 and a sister Edith Bennett in 1991.
Funeral services were held Tue, Oct 18 at the Coldsprings Mennonite Church. Rev. Willard L Bontrager officiated. Interment was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona.
