Agnes Harris Doty, 93, of Torch Lake joined her soul mate, Kayle, in a better place Jan 5, 2002, from the Kalkaska Memorial Long Term Care.
Agnes was born to Carry and Ida (Weidik) Dec 13, 1908, in Bath. A graduate of Bath High School and the Lansing Business University, she married Kayle Gilmore Doty Dec 9, 1932, and they shared 67 years together before Kayle's death Oct 16, 1999.
After moving from Lansing to their home on Torch Lake in 1972, together they owned and operated Doty's Antiques and Clock Shop at Shingle Shack on South Torch Lake for nearly 30 years.
Agnes was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church and the Juniper Garden Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Doty Larson of Torch Lake and Lois Doty Guccioni (John) of Godfrey, IN; her grandchildren Malinda Larson Barr (David) of Haslett, Larua Larson Panganis (Steve) Williamston, Erik Doty Larson (Kelly) of Haslett, Sara Benedix Baker (Ramey) of Collinsville, IL, and Kayle Benedix of Godfrey, IL; and her great grandchildren Madelyn Jac Panganix, Megan Hunt and David Baker.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Harris; and grandson Mark Benedix.
Memorial services will be held in the spring.
