Kalkaska resident Adelaide Louise Trombley died of natural causes on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the age of 82.

Born on Oct. 16, 1926, in East Detroit, she was the daughter of Jim and Jessie Hynes. Addie enjoyed a happy childhood in nearby Grosse Pointe.

At the age of 19, Addie met her husband to be, Francis Trombley, and they were married on June, 7, 1947. This began what would be a 62 year marriage founded in a profound love and lasting devotion to each other.

Soon they built their own home in Clinton Township in order to raise and provide for their growing family. 

Addie was the devoted mother of nine children, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all.

In 1987 Frank and Addie moved to Kalkaska, where Addie quickly became involved in a range of activities. She was a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program, a water aerobics instructor and an instructor in the art of Tai Chi.

She is survived by husband, Frank; and her children, Carrol Cantor, Alan Trombley, Rosemary Trombley, Phillip Trombley, Margaret (Gary) Smith, David Trombley and Diane (Cass) Budzynowski. She is also survived by brother, Bill (Serena) Hynes; sister, Carrol (John) Hodges; and sister, Florence (Bud) Hyde.

She was predeceased by sons, Francis Trombley and Dale Trombley. 

Visitation will be held at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska today, Oct 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral will be held at St. Mary of the Woods Church in Kalkaska on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m.
